The Writers Guild of America Award: The Category of "Outstanding Script for a Television Daytime Seriel," which honoured three consecutive episodes that chronicled Sami's execution in June of 1999.

The Directors Guild of America Award: Directors Herb Stein and Roger Inman were honoured for their direction of episode #8557, which dealt with the gut-wrenching execution of Sami Brady.
